New York City Essentials | Travelup Reviews

New York City is one of the world’s biggest and best-known cities. New York is popular among tourists especially those that are interested in Travelup Reviews. It has also attracted many travelers who have stayed there, contributing to its rich cultural makeup. When many people, especially from outside of North America, think of New York City, they think of Manhattan’s skyscrapers, of Wall Street and the New York business world, of Times Square and its high-tech displays, of Broadway and off-Broadway theatre. In reality, Manhattan is only one of five New York City boroughs, each with its own appeal, culture, and lifestyle. Moreover, within each borough there is a much more traditional and architectural variety, and a large number of activities suitable for tourists.
The size of New York City means that tourists such as those that have sought Travelup Reviews can experience more riveting activities throughout the city. However, it also means that planning the trip in advance is a must. One must decide whether to attempt to cover all five boroughs or merely one of them; Manhattan and Brooklyn being the best-known of the five. The other three are Staten Island, Queens and the Bronx. The Bronx is part of the U.S. mainland, while Manhattan and Staten Island are their own islands. Meanwhile, Brooklyn and Queens are geographically on Long Island. The city’s unique geography does not pose much of an impediment when it comes to getting around, as there is a good system of tunnels, bridges and ferries to get around on.
In the Bronx, one can have a quintessential New York experience by going to Yankee Stadium, and also visit the famous Bronx Zoo. Brooklyn, the most populous of the boroughs, is known worldwide as the capital of hip culture and lifestyles, but also offers a rich cultural history and a great deal of ethnic diversity. Manhattan needs little introduction, as it has been the setting of countless movies, is well-known as a high-end shopping mecca, and is where most of New York City’s global image comes from. Queens is the city’s most ethnically diverse borough and also its largest, making it an essential place to visit to better understand New York City and explore its people’s culture and food. Staten Island is largely residential in comparison to the other boroughs, but does offer some fascinating sights. It is also a good place to take the kids, as the island is home to the Staten Island Children’s Museum.

Travelup Reviews| Sydney

Sydney is the largest and most famous city in Australia. Because of this, many people add it to their holiday wish list. However, before flying off to this beautiful, historical city, it is a good idea to learn a little about it in the form of Travelup Reviews

Sydney is a very diverse city and is home to amazing, iconic buildings, beautiful, pristine beaches, landmarks steeped in history, amazing shopping opportunities, and many award-winning restaurants. With the idyllic tranquillity of Hyde Park, and the breath-taking views of the Sydney Harbour, Sydney definitely has something for everyone and a visit to the city is a dream of many tourists.

One of the first places that new, and returning visitors go to is the Sydney Harbour. Even though almost everybody has seen it in photographs and on television, nothing compares to seeing the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Sydney Opera House, and the harbour itself up close. While at the harbour, tourists can take a leisurely walk along the Circular Quay or hop on a ferry to Watson’s Bay or Cockatoo Island, and enjoy the beauty of the harbour and its surrounding area from the water. When it’s time to eat, Circular Quay has some of the best restaurants in Sydney, including ARIA Sydney, Café Sydney, Quay Restaurant, and Guillaume at Bennelong, which is situated beneath the Opera House sails.

One of the most popular shopping areas in Sydney is the Queen Victoria Building, located in the heart of the central business district (CBD). While enjoying a shopping trip, tourists can spend time admiring this beautiful, grand, and historical building that dates back to the 1890s.

After a shopping trip, a great place to entertain the entire family is Darling Harbour. About a ten-minute walk from the Sydney Town Hall, this is the ideal location for family fun. Darling Harbour has many restaurants that offer harbour side meals, and after a meal, there are many opportunities to experience the varied and energetic nightlife that Sydney has to offer. In Darling Harbour you will also find amazing locations such as WILD LIFE Sydney, the SEA LFE Sydney Aquarium, and the Chinese Gardens of Friendship.

Tourists, who want a bird’s eye view of Sydney, can head to the top of the Sydney Tower Eye. From there, tourists can enjoy views of the entire city, over the Pacific Ocean, and the Blue Mountains to the west.

Travelup Reviews: Orlando

Once a sleepy city loaded with orange groves and land as far as the eye could see, Orlando is now a vibrant city full of exciting destinations.

In 1960 Orlando had over 88,000 residents; but five years later the turning point for the Orlando economy came when Walt Disney announced construction of his second theme park in the Orlando/Kissimmee metropolitan area. That changed the makeup of the area overnight and ballooned the population from 99,000 in 1970 to nearly 250,000 today.

Of course, there is more to Orlando than just Disney. Other theme parks dot the landscape, and Orlando is also home to vibrant shopping, a generous film and television industry, and a strong sports scene.

There is one word of advice to those coming to Orlando. Hotel rooms are plentiful, so numerous bargains can be found at both the luxury level and at the mid-price level. In off-peak times; which largely fall when kids are in school, hotel rooms have fallen as low as $30 a night in some areas.

Because Orlando draws a vast swath of tourists and many local citizens, food choices run the gamut from chain restaurants - to buffets - to cooking across all categories from steak to seafood. Many of these restaurants are child-friendly; meaning there are menu items that cater to children.

Shopping in Orlando can be found at numerous malls across the central Florida landscape. Such American high-end department stores like Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus can be found in the city and suburbs. The Florida Mall, which contains over 250 stores spread out over close to two million square feet, is one of the largest one-story malls in the United States.

No visit to Orlando would be complete without mentioning the theme parks. Walt Disney World, Universal Studios Orlando and Sea World are among the many parks calling central Florida home. Although food at these parks can be considered overpriced, some parks offer discount dining plans depending on whether or not there are multiple adults and children in the family.

Orlando has so much to offer. World-class dining and shopping await visitors daily.
